"one thing god brought to us is terri schiavo, to help elevate the visibility of what is going on in american," delay stated to a group of christian conservatives. this is coming from the party that claims to be for states rights. this is coming from the party that claims to be against big government. the party that claims to be for letting people govern their own lives. meanwhile, tom delay is being reviewed for his unethical behavior while in congress for his illegal acceptance of trips and money. even the conservative wall street journal is calling for his resignation. it seems like if the republicans really cared they'd try to pass a bill which gives money to those families who cannot afford to keep their loved one on life support if they so choose. if life really is the issue, then why is it only important when the family can afford life support for 12+ years? terri schiavo has become the posterchild for religious nutcases and their poor children who have been dragged down to florida to protest. she's been on life support for over 12 years and she's in pvs and not going to recover. let her die with some kind of dignity instead of as a political pawn. i think the democrats are playing this one well. letting the republicans drown in their own cesspool. |
